For added peace of mind! With Direct Connect Mode, the monitor is ready to use out of the box for direct local monitoring between parent unit and camera. With App Connect Mode, the camera is set-up to communicate via a Wi-Fi network for remote access to the camera via the VTech app. Once the camera is set up for App Connect Mode it will continue to communicate to the parent unit in Direct Connect Mode, and will simultaneously communicate to the VTech app.
