Qantas Marketplace is committed to minimising our environmental and social impact. We’re providing Qantas Frequent Flyers with opportunities to do the same using points, cash or a mix of both.
By using your points on sustainable charities and offset products, you’re supporting both Australian and international organisations and programs in helping to produce better outcomes for the environment. And even better - any product purchased from these partners will contribute to your Green Tier status. These products will be identified via a green leaf.
Use Qantas Points to offset your household footprint - this includes your fuel,
electricity and gas usage. Choose to pay with cash and you'll earn 10 points
per $1 spent on your offset.* Your contribution will be used by Qantas to
purchase carbon offset credits, which support verified carbon offset projects in
Australia and around the world. Simply select the state you reside in, plus the
amount of people and cars in your household to calculate your impact.*
Choose the state you reside in and offset your home and car.

Barrier Reef Foundation, Kimberley Land Council, UNICEF and OzHarvest.

biodiversity conservation efforts. Your support will count towards you
achieving Green Tier status.

Simply, use your points, cash or a mix of both to go one step further and make your delivery
climate positive. Your delivery is already carbon neutral**, and your contribution
will go beyond achieving net zero carbon emissions to create an environmental
benefit by removing additional emissions from the atmosphere. To be eligible for
Green Tier activity, Climate Positive Delivery must be purchased alongside another
item from Qantas Marketplace.~

Offset your Home and Car
What is Offset your Home and Car?
This product is intended to offset the emissions associated with your electricity use, gas use and motor vehicles for one year. By ordering this product, you’re allowing Qantas to purchase carbon offset credits which support environmental projects that remove greenhouse gas emissions from the atmosphere (such as planting forests) or prevent future emissions from occurring (such as replacing electricity from a coal-fired power station with electricity from renewable sources such as wind or solar).
How can you prove my impact?
Qantas has been offsetting emissions for more than a decade. Our 'tick-the-box' to Fly Carbon Neutral offsetting program is Climate Active certified and one of the largest of any airline. Our corporate offset program Future Planet is trusted by some of Australia’s largest organisations. We have a long history of experience in carbon offsetting and together with our offset provider TEM, ensure the highest levels of due diligence and rigour in our processes ensuring your contribution achieves real, measurable, long lasting impact on climate.
The calculations for Offset your Home and Car have been drawn from a large suite of verified emissions sources, including the Australian National Greenhouse Accounts Factors, DEFRA and relevant jurisdictional emissions sources. More information on the product calculation can be found here.
Who regulates and verifies that this offset program actually reduces carbon emissions? Qantas only purchases carbon offsets from projects that are verified at the highest international standards. Projects are verified by an independent third-party like the Verified Carbon Standard Program and the Gold Standard who ensure each project meets strict criteria to deliver measurable and permanent emissions reductions additional to a business-as-usual scenario.
Why does the cost of the offsets differ by state? Energy-related emissions form the lion’s share of activities offset by Offset your Home and Car and vary significantly across Australia’s states and territories, based on the primary source of generation. For instance, electricity in Victoria is generated predominantly from coal which has a higher emissions profile when compared to, for example, Tasmania where electricity generation is dominated by hydro power. Therefore, the cost to offset the equivalent household emissions will be more expensive in Victoria on account of the higher number of offset credits required.

Climate Positive Deliveries
Has Qantas made all deliveries carbon neutral? If so, why? We've made all Qantas Marketplace and Qantas Wine deliveries carbon neutral. This means that any emissions associated with the process of delivering your packages are already offset by the organisation. We believe it is important to take responsibility for the emissions that are produced as part of our business operations and make sure our delivery process is as sustainable as possible.
Why would I make my delivery climate positive? Taking a step beyond carbon neutral and making your delivery climate positive is an easy way to further decrease your carbon footprint and make a positive environmental contribution.
What does ‘climate positive’ mean? Climate positive describes an activity, product or organisation that goes beyond achieving net zero carbon emissions to create an environmental benefit by removing additional emissions from the atmosphere. Removing additional emissions from the atmosphere is an important step in slowing and preventing the effects of climate change.
