Abseiling in the Glasshouse Mountains is a great adventure. You will experience a whole day out and a variety of different cliffs that are all close to the walking trail. These weathered volcanic plugs are steeped in Aboriginal legend. You may even get to hear a tale or two from the Dreamtime!

You start the day with a safety briefing then hike up to the 25 metre cliffs. After plenty of abseils off the 25 metre cliffs, you'll move to the final abseil of 45 metres. By progressively moving to more challenging abseils throughout the day, you will have plenty of opportunities to work on improving and refining your abseiling technique.

The Glasshouse Mountains are a spectacular abseiling location, surrounded by craggy volcanic peaks, which tower above pine plantations, eucalypt forests and open fields with awesome panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

Fitness and Experience

• Minimum age is eight years
• An average level of fitness is recommended
• Please advise any medical conditions that may be relevant, for example asthma, epilepsy
• Participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult and a parent/guardian who will be required to sign the indemnity form
• This experience is unsuitable for those that are pregnant

What to Bring/Wear

• Wear comfortable clothing that suits the weather on the day
• Lightweight, non-restrictive clothing is best
• Wear sturdy footwear, hiking or jogging shoes are good, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and insect repellent
• Lunch and snacks plus at 2-3 litres water for the day
• Backpack to carry your personal belongings and your allocated abseiling gear

• Tuition by qualified abseiling instructors
• All specialised abseiling gear and safety equipment including ropes, harnesses and helmets
• Plenty of encouragement and adventure
